After Surah Fajr the next surah that was revealed to prophet Muhammed(saw) is surah ad Duha after some gap. In This first part of Surah ad-Duha Shayk Abu Talha explains the essence of this surah in his tafseer

Sheikh Abu Talha summarizes meanings of first 10 Surahs in the order it was reveled. In his unique style and presentation he links the message of the Quran into our current scenario and the oppression and obstacles faced by the Islamic dawah carriers which are similar to those faced by the Prophet Mohammed (saw) and the Sahaba (ra). He also extracts the method to carry the dawah from the way of the Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his companions’ actions in Makkah.

On the issue of Syria, Dr Abdul Wahid, chairman of the Executive Committee of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, described how it has become a ‘forbidden conflict’. The recent clamp-down on organisations, charities and individuals has the distinct aim of silencing Muslims who show their concern for Muslims suffering under the brutality of the Assad regime. Dr Abdul Wahid explained how Muslims must continue to show their care for the Muslims in Syria and never consider it criminal or ‘extremist’ to highlight the fallacy of the west’s foreign policy in Syria.

A discussion about Surah Al-Asr. Many people say time is money, but time is not money. it cannot be regained or bought. This is by no means extensive but it should be a good supplement for those studying the subject. More detailed talks explaining the same subject and others will follow soon insha’Allah.

Historically for human civilizations, shorter days and longer nights in the winter solstice was a time for contemplation, as the cold would push families together for warmth and the lamps would be illuminating the dark streets.
